John Paulk is a personal chef in Portland, Oregon and a graduate
of Western Culinary Institute. Achieving a 4.0 GPA, he was awarded
a highest honors medal and the prestigious Diplôme Le Cordon
Bleu from Academie d'Art Culinaire de Paris.
During the late 1980's John managed Cocolat, the celebrated San
Francisco patisserie owned by James Beard award-winning cookbook
author, Alice Medrich. In recent years, he apprenticed at London
Grill in Portland's famous Benson Hotel. Receiving outstanding
marks for superior performance, he was later invited to join the
staff.
Chef John has worked for exclusive catering companies in Portland,
and was a private chef for Oatfield Estates where he was responsible
for preparing several hundred meals per week.
Personal Chef, John Paulk's infatuation with food merges simplicity
and sophistication as he caters fresh, clean tasting cuisine prepared
in classic style. He passionately creates cozy, satisfying meals
for his clients drawing from his spirited sense of humor.
John is a talented media communicator appearing regularly on
The Georgene Rice Show, 93.7 FM KPDQ, in a segment called ·Food
Talk with Chef John.
As a member of the American Culinary Federation, John possesses
a Certified Culinarian designation, and also belongs to the American
Personal Chef Association, Chefs de Cuisine Society of Oregon,
and adheres to the International Personal Chef Code of Ethics.
John, and his wife, Anne, have been married since 1992 and delight
in raising their three young sons. They make their home in Northeast
Portland where they are active members of the faith community
and other local organizations.
