Executive chef John Paulk, and his wife Anne, established Mezzaluna in 2005. Since then, Mezzaluna has become recognized for its outstanding cuisine, impeccable attention to detail, and un-matched service and care to its clients. And in 2007, Mezzaluna was rated by CitySearch.com as one of the finest caterers in Portland, Oregon.
Chef John is a graduate of Western Culinary Institute and upon completion was awarded a highest honors medal and the Diplome Le Cordon Bleu from Academie d'Art Culinaire de Paris.
In addition to John and Anne Paulk, Mezzaluna is honored to have built a solid team of talented chefs and service personnel who have wide-ranging experience cooking, teaching, or assisting in some of Portland's finest restaurants, culinary schools, and culinary stores.
Chef John enjoys regular appearances on television for KATU's AM Northwest conducting cooking segments. And since 2005, he has been a regular guest on The Georgene Rice Show, 93.9 FM KPDQ, discussing cooking techniques and providing seasonal food tips. Mezzaluna has also been featured in the Oregonian newspaper.
The Mezzaluna staff has cooked for head coach Nate McMillan and members of the Portland Trail Blazers, corporate CEO's, company executives, and popular Portland media personalities. In 2007, John was honored to teach at The Northwest Women's Show and was privileged to judge a statewide food competition at the 2006 Rose Festival.
Although Chef John wields the whisk for Mezzaluna, his wife Anne and their three sons are actively involved with their vibrant, growing company. The Paulk's devotion to their Christian faith and their family are top priority.
With Mezzaluna; you create the memories, we put the cherry on top.
